This project is just a bit of fun. Last year I met with a company who have developed highly efficient solar technology that uses ambient background light to charge low-power products. Although the technology is unlikely to ever be able to power more energy hungry products the prospect of more electronics being self-perpetuating is awesome to me. This project is a homage to that idea with a concept for an ambient light powered keyring LED made from moulded steel that can last 10+ years before the batteries need replacing.
