For the purposes of product design sketchwork is simply a very efficient communication tool. CAD models provide a more accurate representation of your product & can be used for prototyping, manufacture, renderings and animations. My general approach is to use sketching in as fast and loose a way as possible to allow us to get to the modelling phases of product development where details can be refined against real world dimensions.

During my 10+ year career as a product designer I have helped to develop many products using concept sketchwork. This includes when I worked at Oxford Product Design as an ID consultant & more recently for clients such as WMP Creative, Aileron Design, Cornelius Creative, Smith Robotics, Sygensys, Printpool & more as a solo practioner since 2021 when I began freelancing.

Previous to my product design career I was more classically trained in life drawing classes & have been drawing since a very young age. The work shown here is product design specific. I have also completed digital portraits, life drawings, murals & illustrations, sometimes as part of my work offering.
